The Cliff Resort Mui Ne rooms: Vela, Azul, Bungalow, Terra and the villas compared
Most couples are best served by an Azul Sea View room (45 m², sea-facing balcony); families should book a two-bedroom Terra or Duplex apartment, which add a kitchen and a second bedroom. The Cliff sells about 19 room types grouped into eight wings. The wing name tells you more than the marketing name: it fixes the size, whether there is a kitchen or a terrace hot tub, and roughly where on the hillside you sleep.

Each wing, and who it suits
about 38 m² · Garden or sea · Double or twin
Vela Breeze and Vela Ocean
The smallest rooms at the resort. Breeze rooms sit on the ground or first floor with a garden outlook; Ocean rooms are on the second floor and look towards the sea. Shower only, no kitchen.
Book it if you mostly want a clean base and plan to spend the day at the pools and beach. Skip it if you want a bathtub, a balcony with a real sea view (pick Vela Ocean) or space for a child’s bed.

Azul Garden, Pool and Sea View
Standard hotel rooms in blue and white, set a little further back in the grounds. Pool and Sea View rooms have balconies; the Garden View listing shows none. No kitchen, no bathtub.
Book it if you want a straightforward, good-sized room and a balcony over the pool or sea. Skip it if you need a kitchen or want to sit in a hot tub with a view — move up to Terra.

Azul Sea View
The same 45 m² layout as the other Azul rooms, but the balcony faces the water. For most couples it is the best balance of size, view and price at The Cliff.
Book it if you want to wake up to the sea without paying for an apartment. Skip it if you are travelling with two children — space runs out quickly.

Verde Garden View and Verde Lounge
One-bedroom apartments with a separate living area and a kitchen or kitchenette. The catch is the outlook: the Verde Lounge has what the hotel calls a limited view, one booking listing says no window view, and guests mention road noise.
Book it if you are staying a week or more and want to cook and spread out. Skip it if you are a light sleeper or the view matters to you.

Bungalow Beach Front and Bungalow Garden View
Detached-style units near the bottom of the slope with a wide veranda, a bathtub and a mosquito-net canopy over the bed. Beach Front bungalows look straight out to the sand.
Book it if you want the beach a few steps away and fewer stairs to the sea. Skip it if thin walls would bother you — a few guests mention hearing neighbours.

Duplex Ocean View
Two-level apartments with a full kitchen, a balcony and sea views; the two-bedroom version has two bathrooms. The booking page also lists them as Luxury Duplex.

Terra Ocean View 1-Bedroom
A large one-bedroom apartment with a kitchenette, a dining area and a private outdoor hot tub on a sea-facing terrace. This is the room most guests mean when they rave about The Cliff.
Book it if you are a couple who wants the hot tub and the view, and will use the space. Skip it if you only need somewhere to sleep — it is a big step up from Azul.

Terra Ocean View and Terra Garden View 2-Bedroom
Two bedrooms, a kitchenette, a living and dining area and a terrace hot tub, listed for up to five adults. Ocean View faces the sea; Garden View faces the grounds and puts the hot tub in a planted courtyard.

Villa Ocean Front 3-Bedroom
A handful of three-bedroom villas by the beach with their own pool, kitchen, garden and dining room. They sleep six as standard and up to nine with extra beds.

How to get the right room at The Cliff
01
Book by wing, not by adjective
Booking sites rename rooms. Look for Vela, Azul, Verde, Bungalow, Duplex, Terra or Villa in the name, then check the size against our table.
02
Sea, Ocean or Beach Front = a real view
Garden and Pool View rooms look over the grounds, and the Verde Lounge has a limited outlook. If the view matters, the name must say Sea, Ocean or Beach Front.
03
Ask for your level when you book
The resort steps down a slope. If stairs are hard, ask for a room near the lobby or the beach path and request it in writing.
Honest note
The resort opened in 2012, and some guests find parts of the rooms dated — worn fittings, a slow drain, a sticky door. Recent reviews are still strongly positive, but if you want everything brand new, this is not that hotel.
Questions about rooms at The Cliff
Is Vela Ocean or Azul Sea View the better sea-view room at The Cliff?
Azul Sea View, for most people. It is about 7 m² larger (45 against 38 m²) and comes with king or twin beds and a balcony facing the sea. Vela Ocean rooms are on the second floor and look towards the water too, but they are the smallest at the resort and have a shower only. Choose Vela Ocean if the price gap matters more than the space.
Which rooms at The Cliff have a kitchen?
The Verde, Duplex, Terra and Villa units all have a kitchen or kitchenette: the Duplex and villas a full kitchen, Terra and Verde a smaller one. Azul, Vela and the bungalows have a kettle and minibar but no kitchen. Note the house rule: a cleaning charge applies if you bring seafood in to cook or eat in the apartment.
Are the terrace hot tubs at The Cliff private?
Yes. Each Terra apartment has its own outdoor hot tub on a terrace that belongs to that unit, and the Rooftop has one too. Terraces are open to the sky, so neighbours on higher levels may see down onto some of them. The hot tubs are not heated pools; ask the hotel how warm the water runs if you are travelling in the cooler months.
What is the difference between Terra Ocean View and Terra Garden View at The Cliff?
Mainly what you look at. Terra Ocean View apartments face the sea from their terrace; Terra Garden View apartments look over the planted grounds, with the hot tub set among trees and flowers. Sizes are similar, about 148–150 m² for the two-bedroom versions. Garden View is quieter on windy days and usually priced below Ocean View.
Can I book connecting rooms at The Cliff?
The hotel does not publish a list of connecting rooms. For families who need two separate rooms, the simpler route is a two-bedroom Terra or Duplex apartment, or the three-bedroom villa. If you prefer two Azul rooms side by side, ask the hotel when you book and have the request added to your reservation.
Does The Cliff have a Rooftop suite, and can I book it online?
The hotel lists a Rooftop unit of about 180 m², with two bedrooms and a hot tub on a large terrace with panoramic sea views. It does not always appear on booking sites. If it is not showing for your dates, contact the hotel directly to ask about availability before you book something else.
Which room at The Cliff is closest to the beach?
The Bungalow Beach Front units and the three-bedroom villas sit at the bottom of the slope, closest to the sand. Everything else is higher up the hillside, between about 50 m and a few minutes’ walk from the beach by the resort path and steps. Guests in upper blocks sometimes use the resort buggies; ask at reception how they run.
